Blue JAvelin on e-bay gets around

Postby AMX390 » Sat May 24, 2008 3:17 pm

A few years ago Adam Tarr here in San Diego let me have his 1970 Javelin, it was a light blue and didn't run, the interior was gone, but the body was solid and rust free. I got the car running, added some parts I had left over from another Javelin project. And then I sold it on e-bay to a man in Riverside County. It turns out that he sold it to a man in Ohio who sold it to another man in Ohio who had some needed interior parts and now it's on e-bay again. Price is up to $2,125 and not even close to the end. Tom, I took a look at the car on eBay. Is it in basically the same condition as when you had it? I wish I had the time and money to restore cars. It is neat to give an old car new life. If there is a next car restoration for me it will be my uncle's AMX..

And if some day I could afford a SC/Rambler or 70 Rebel Machine. Well actually I could afford the 1:18 scale now!

Mark,
If I remember correctly your uncle bought the green AMX new, is that right?
On the blue Javelin, the guy in Ohio who has the car now put the interior in that he had from another car. He also put the wheels on, I had hub caps on it. So far the price is up to $2,600 and still has days to go, we'll see what this car is worth in Ohio. It just goes to show that once you take a California car to the midwest it goes way up in price. People in the midwest are so impressed with how rust free our cars are. He he, I am glad I live in San Diego.

Now there is a second car on e-bay that I used to own, and Tim Burton had this car before me. It's a 1968 AMX with flares, yellow with black stripes, e-bay item 220238831048

It's funny, but two of my past cars are on e-bay at the same time.

That's correct, my uncle is the original owner. Look at the picture of it again, you can see a bush growing under the engine compartment. I would really like to take possession of it..
