Hi my name is Gary Thompson. I am the original owner of a 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin. The car was purchased February 14, 1971 with 4 miles on it from Dick Steele American in Reseda, CA. The paint is still the original Bittersweet Orange with C stripes. It came with the 360 engine, Borg Warner M11 transmission, and 3.15 rear end gears.
In 1974 I had the dealer install 4.10 gears for me, and B & M Transmissions built a 2800 stall for the Borg Warner transmission. Then from 1978 thru 2000 the car just sat in my garage. I would start it every week and some times drive it around the block. In 2000 I started driving it again, every weekend. In 2006 I pulled the 360 and trans, and installed a 401 with the 727 transmission.
